Feb. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Cedar City, UT – If you’re looking to have some fun in the snow or just want some clear blue skies after the freezing temps that have been taking over much of the country – Southern Utah has an exciting line up of winter adventures this season. Travelers can take advantage of Southern Utah’s affordable price points and beautiful scenery this winter all the way through mid-April.

Skiers and boarders that want to fly high in clear skies can try out Utah’s first “Bag Jump” at Brian Head Resort (http://www.brianhead.com/winter/mountain-info/bag_jump). It is a 50x50 foot bag that inflates to 12 feet high and is placed behind a new kicker to send skiers and riders into the air for a gentle landing. Not only is the BAGJUMP the first in Utah, it’s one of only few in the Western United States. BAGJUMP is an ideal way to train and progress in a new and exciting way. It can be used for anything from competitive training, recreational fun, to advancing your technique. http://www.brianhead.com/winter/mountain-info/bag_jump

Adventurers that want to enjoy the resort but are bored (or sore!) from the mountain runs can try out Brian Head’s unique snow tubing attraction (http://www.brianhead.com/winter/mountain-info/tubing), Burning Rubber. It’s like a frozen waterslide, offering up to 6 lanes and a surface lift that whisks you to the top of the park.  At only $15, it's the perfect activity for all ages and abilities- everyone is an expert at snow tubing.  Race your kids. From December 14 to March 16, visitors can enjoy night tubing on Friday and Saturday nights. http://www.brianhead.com/winter/mountain-info/tubing

Discover winter at 10,000 feet and learn about the history of Cedar Breaks National Monument. Every Saturday throughout February, travelers visiting Cedar City or Brian Head can join park rangers for a snowshoeing trek in the monument. On the two mile hike, snowshoers will explore and learn about the park's winter ecology while getting some good ol’ fashioned fresh air. The best part? The trek is absolutely free and snowshoes are provided. Participants can meet rangers in Cedar City or Brian Head – but reservations are required. http://www.nps.gov/cebr/upcoming-events.htm

Visit www.ScenicSouthernUtah.com for events, lodging and area celebrations. Cedar City, UT (Festival City, USA) is located a mere two and a half hours from Las Vegas and provides a perfect base for visiting nearby south west Utah’s National Parks: Bryce Canyon, Zion and Kolob Canyons and Cedar Breaks National Monument.
