Feb. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Harvest, Ireland’s leading people development specialists, is giving companies and employees nationwide a final call to nominate their company to be in with a chance of winning one of the highest training and development accolades an organisation can receive in the name of innovation and training success in Ireland - The Pearse Walsh Award. People are the key to any organisation and this award honours participation in the design and / or delivery of a high learning event that was innovative, fun and added real value to the individuals involved.

The winner of this highly coveted award will receive a bespoke Pearse Walsh Award, an individual/team prize of €1,000 plus a company prize totaling €5,000 of free consultancy time with Harvest. Other previous winners of the award include Topaz and Irish Distillers / Pernod Ricard however this year the IITD and Harvest hopes every organisation in the country will give this consideration.

"We are proud and excited to be sponsoring the Pearse Walsh Award again this year" says Nicola O’Neill, Managing Director for Harvest Resources. "In this increasingly challenging environment, businesses have to adopt and innovate to survive. We are greatly encouraged by the broad engagement from the business community in Ireland to date and are honoured to help groom entrepreneurship in business, building a culture of innovation and on-going learning and training is the key.  The award recognizes organisations who are being innovative in the design and delivery of training programme’s with a focus on creativity and fun. We would like to see entries from every county in Ireland this year!"

Your company could be joining other illustrious winners at the IITD National Training Awards, which takes place at the IITD Awards at Killashee House Hotel, Naas on Friday, March 22nd 2013. "We are honoured to have received this recognition from the prestigious Pearse Walsh Award" said Eamonn Eaton (Head of Group Learning and Engagement), Learning Zone, a joint collaboration between Bank of Ireland and Accenture, the most recent winner of the Award. "The key to our success is our innovative approach to all aspects of the business, this accolade from Harvest is recognition of that philosophy. Our entry was about building an in-house training curriculum that consist of over 100 internally designed web based programmes; but the edge and innovation was demonstrated in the value add proposition such as the use of the iPhone apps that were developed which essentially created a mobile pocket guide, the availability of the programme to selected BOI customers, the fact that the manager could review the progress of their direct reports and select recommended modules based on the course of learning taken to date”.
Now in its seventh year, the Pearse Walsh Award commemorates the legacy of Pearse Walsh the founder of Harvest Resources. Applications for the Pearse Walsh Award can be found on http://www.harvest.ie. Closing date is the 22nd February 2013.
