The HPA is a government department of about 3500 staff based in four offices across the UK. Its primary goal is to protect the public from serious health risks including diseases and environmental hazards. It does this by providing advice and information to the general public, health professionals, and to national and local government. The cloud solution provided by 6DG will be used to host a variety of informational websites.
Using the G-Cloud framework, the HPA started to research the Government’s certified list of suppliers. It was looking for a provider that could supply a reliable, robust, always available managed cloud hosting solution for its 16 public facing educational microsites. 6DG offered the HPA resilience and security features, bolstered by the ability to expand availability and bandwidth instantly to respond to spikes in site traffic.
Mike Ing, group business operations director, Six Degrees Group, said: “The G-Cloud framework means local and national government departments will be able to move away from large costly contracts and open up procurement to flexible, innovative service providers. We are delighted to now be G-Cloud Certified. It is fantastic to see Government departments sourcing leading-edge solutions from cloud hosting providers like 6DG.”
