The ESS project holds a series of field tests concerning a variety of emergency and crisis cases. The third and final field test of the ESS project is planned to take place in the area of Col de Vescavo close to the French-Italian borders the 11th of April 2013. The test is of interest for decision makers, operational organizations, emergency and crisis management personnel, filed experts and specialists, local and regional authorities and government organizations.The demonstration will be based on the scenario of an airplane crashed near a forested area next to Sospel village. The situation includes recovery of victims, simulation of a fire caused in the nearby forest by the plane crash propagating towards Italian frontier and the management of the crisis situation and decision making using the ESS technological solution. The purpose of the event is to demonstrate and validate the potential contribution and performance of the ESS system into supporting crisis management operations during an international cooperation. The test is organized by CEREN, the Test and Research Center of ENTENTE for the Mediterranean Forest, on behalf of the ESS consortium in cooperation with local and regional services and authorities including Sapeurs-pompiers - Alpes Maritimes department (Fr), Prefecture of Alpes Maritimes - Nice (Fr), Municipality of Sospel (Fr), Corpo Forestale dello Stato (I), Vigili del Fuoco (I), Prefecture of Imperia (I), Municipality of Olivetta San Michele (I), Police and Customs Cooperation Center (Fr/It).
The venue will be in Sospel village (Fr), at a properly set demonstration site in the area of Col de Vescavo; starting at 10:00 on Thursday 11th April 2013 and ending approximately at 15:00
