PRLog - Feb. 20, 2013 - KLAMPENBORG, Denmark -- To help software companies combat the waste of executive capacity originating from simple management misalignment, TBK Consult have released a free online self-test tool. By answering just 60 questions the tool can immediately identify the level and areas of misalignment in any management team.

The software industry is the fastest growing industry in the world. However it is probably also one of the most volatile industries. The difference between success and failure is often extremely small, depending upon the smallest details, luck or coincidence. Success requires constant accumulation of feedback from the market and the ability to swiftly compile and execute based on the analysis of the information.  Executives’ ability to continuously monitor, manage, control and lead this process determines whether a software company will grow and “take” the market or remain in a state of troubled oblivion.

“As management consultants we are often called to help fix issues that have troubled our clients for some time,” explains Hans Peter Bech, CEO TBK Consult. “As we dig for insight and do our analysis to provide suggestions for a remedy we almost always find that a substantial portion of the issue is related to misalignment in the executive team. Irrespective of what the problem is, it has been allowed to survive and grow because management thought they agreed on what to do then went about doing things that only made the problem much worse. We believe that our new X-ray will help executive teams stay aligned and deal with problems consistently before they become life threatening. ”

The free X-Ray is based on the principles behind ValuePerform® and the Balanced Scorecard. It measures the degree of alignment in a management team in four very basic areas:

1.   How each member of the management team prioritize the six sources for financial performance.
2.   The individual manager’s perception of how the company provides strategic customer value to it’s customers today.
3.   The individual manager’s perception of how the company will provide strategic value to it’s customers in the future.
4.   The individual manager’s perception of four basic market situation characteristics.

“Learning that the ultimate cause of a serious business problem is to be found in misalignment in the executive team is a hard message to swallow for many executives”, says Steen Alexander, CEO of ValueMaker, the company who invented the Alignment X-Ray on the basis of the ValuePerform® methodology. “However, if you do not cure the root cause, then any problem will show up again and again in new disguises requiring critical management attention and organizational resources. We are obviously excited that TBK Consult is now applying our approaches to help software companies become more productive and successful.”
