Follow on Google News | JVS Chicago Launches Career Program for Recent College StudentsSix-week program provides career direction and job search strategies to recent college graduates and young adults; Orientation is Wednesday, March 20, 1:00 p.m., 5150 Golf Road, Skokie
By: JVS Chicago To assist these graduates, JVS Chicago’s comprehensive career development center, Career Moves, is offering a new program entitled Career Tracks. This six-week informal but structured program will help participants explore their career options, and pinpoint a viable career direction. “If you don’t know what you are selling, an employer isn’t going to buy,” says Linda Wolfe, Director of Career Development and Placement for JVS. “We often hear college graduates say, I just want a job, any job, but that doesn’t work today. We live in a very specialized world and if someone is not clear about who they are or what they want to do they will not be successful in finding a job or starting their careers,” she adds. The cost of the program is $189 and along with personalized career assessments and interpretations, participants will develop their brand identity, elevator speech, resume and cover letter, and leave with a strategic action plan to begin a successful job search. In addition, graduates will gain free access to eight JVS success workshops after completing the program. A free orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20th from 1:00-3:00 pm, 5150 Golf Road in Skokie, IL. To reserve a space for the orientation, call 847-568-5150. End
