Bronx Nursing Home Gold Crest Care Center offers blood pressure checks to the community

(February 2013) As February is National Heart Month; Gold Crest Care Center has decided to take an active role in ensuring that the members of its Bronx community have the opportunity to get screened. “Gold Crest Care Center is committed to health and well being of our friends and neighbors and we’ve decided that it is important for us a health care facility to take an active role in the prevention of heart disease” stated Mark Salamon, Administrator at Gold Crest.

The Center for Disease control confirms that Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women, but heart disease is preventable and controllable. Heart disease is a major problem. Every year, about 715,000 Americans have a heart attack. About 600,000 people die from heart disease in the United States each year—that’s 1 out of every 4 deaths.  

High blood pressure often has no symptoms, so it is crucial that one has the pressure checked on a regular basis the test is completely painless and can ultimately save your life.

Gold Crest Care Center located at 2316 Bruner Ave in the Bronx will be providing free blood pressure checks daily through the end of February from 2pm – 5pm and urge all individuals 30 years old and above to come get their blood pressure check.
