Chisa D. PennIx-Brown, MBA is the New President of the National Black MBA Association Piedmont Triad

Feb. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- The Piedmont Triad Chapter of the National Black MBA Association (www.TriadMBA.org) has elected Chisa D. Pennix-Brown, MBA as their new President for 2013-2015.  Chisa joined the chapter in December of 2012 as the Business Development Chair and has taken her role as President with a sense of urgency.  The NBMBAA is an organization comprised of professionals and college students seeking higher education and aligning goals with career, education, leadership, entrepreneurship, and lifestyle.

Pennix-Brown, is a graduate of Elon University class of 2001 with a BA in Corporate Communications and she received her MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2011 in Business Administration.  She also serves in a professional capacity as the CEO of Lady Bizness, Inc. a business branding and social media engagement firm that focuses on event production for women entrepreneurs. In addition, to her position with the NBMBAA she is also an active member in Speakerpreneur Toastmasters, serving as the VP of Public Relations; a Board member of Poet.She, a Greensboro based all female literary arts and spoken word group; and a Team Leader for Eagle Resource Networks, a professional resource/network building company. Chisa has recently accepted an adjunct faculty position, with Guilford Technical Community College to teach marketing as a part of the Continuing  Education Department for the GTCC Small Business Center.

Pennix Brown states, "being a part of an organization such as the NBMBAA has allowed me to increase my personal and professional goals in the Triad. I encourage anyone that wants to be a part of a National organization and develop leadership skills to get involved and make a real difference in the community." Some of the goals she has set for 2013 are to increase membership by 20%, create strategic partnerships with local businesses, colleges, and universities, while simultaneously working with the Triad's Chambers of Commerce and support organizations. Since being elected in January, the chapter has already hosted six events and installed the Leaders of Tomorrow Program which enhances the leadership skills and acumen of high school students.

The NBMBAA Piedmont Triad Chapter hosts monthly Executive Board meetings the second Tuesday of the month from 6-8 pm at the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship located at 1451 S. Elm Eugene Street, Greensboro, NC 27406.  Additional  membership events are held every fourth Thursday of the month from 6-8 pm.  Locations and topics vary with a focus on goals that align with the chapter as well as the community we serve.
