Founders Of New Thought Day To Preside At First Annual Celebration In Local Church

World-wide branches of New Thought jointly established an annual day to celebrate the common roots of their faiths. Unity Churches, Centers for Spiritual Living, Church of Truth, and many other organizations consider themselves New Thought.

Feb. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- On Sunday March 3, 2013, the New Thought churches and centers around the world and in the greater San Diego area will be celebrating the first annual 'New Thought Day' designed to remember the legacy of the New Thought Faith. More than a century old, the New Thought Movement/Philosophy of Life is dedicated to the Spiritual Awakening of individuals and compassionate activism on world issues.  New Thought honors and respects all people of all faiths who believe spiritual equity and human rights belong to everyone. It embraces positive thinking, listening to one’s inner voice, affirmative prayer, meditation, and other ways of realizing the presence of God within.

New Thought began in the mid-1800s in America and has many unique organizational branches throughout the world, although the teachings and rituals are very similar within each branch. Branches include Affiliated New Thought Network (ANTN), Agape International Spiritual Center, Association for Global New Thought (AGNT), Association of Unity Churches, Centers for Spiritual Living, Church of Truth, Divine Science, Emerson New Thought Center (ENTC), Hillside International Truth Center, Global Religious Science Ministries (GRSM), Unity Worldwide Ministries, and the Universal Foundation for Spiritual Living. New Thought participated at the 2009 Parliament of World Religions in Melbourne, Australia, under the banner of Global New Thought.

On New Thought Day, the first Sunday in March, churches and centers will present a history of New Thought with slides, singing, prayers, guest speakers, pot-lucks and other activities.   The Founders of New Thought Day,  Rev. Dr. Stephen and Rev. Dr. Abigail Albert, will preside over the local celebration with Rev. John Poleski at the San Diego Center for Spiritual Living, inside the Holiday Inn Express Building, at 1430 Seventh Ave. Suite C, San Diego, CA 92101.  Everyone is invited to attend.  Meditation begins at 10:00am, followed by the Service Celebration at 10:30am, and a reception for the Alberts immediately after.  FREE Parking is at 6th Ave Park & Glide, 1425 6th Ave.,  next to the Indigo Café.  Take the parking elevators directly to "M2-7th Ave"
