The series of thirty stunning monochrome botanical studies features the fine-art photographer's distinctive style and attention to subtle detail, all personally printed by Paul: from the beautifully sculpted Aqua Rose, to the crêpe paper petals of a field poppy, to the more exotic-looking Black Parrot tulip.
The series hints at a more classical period in photography, but has a contemporary feel, capturing the subtleties of light, shade, tone and fine detail inherent in every flower. The images pull you in closely, making you want to feel the texture in each petal. A case of "the closer you look, the more you see".
The exhibition is on from 1 February until 4 March 2013 at the Fine & Contemporary Gallery (part of Sea Pictures Gallery), Well Lane, Clare, Suffolk, UK CO10 8NH
The gallery is open on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10.00am-5.00pm, and Sunday 1.00pm – 5.00pm (Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday)
