I have been a professional oboist for the past 34 years and have always loved performing and listening to the concertos for 2 oboes composed by Tomaso Albinoni. Recording BOTH PARTS has been a long-time dream of mine, but the opportunity never presented itself. Until now.

With the help of this Kickstarter campaign and YOU, I plan to breathe new life into my 2 favorite Albinoni concertos, and offer my first solo recording.

THE IDEA

I got the idea over 20 years ago after listening to Wynton Marsalis’ early “Baroque Trumpet” album, where he played multiple trumpet parts dubbed over each other.

I plan to record two of a set of four concertos from the famed "Opus 9" series, using a similar method.  This will be the first recording of these concertos using the same oboe player for both parts.

With the help of Producer Scott Jacoby, the sound of a full orchestra will be produced with only seven musicians: one oboe, five string players, and a keyboard.

THE FINAL PRODUCT

As a kid, I used to buy records almost as much for the cover art as the music.  So, instead of a CD, I plan to release this recording on vinyl. The physically larger format will provide a more visually pleasing experience and will allow me to showcase my dual passion for music and photography.
