Feb. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Greece has the sixth highest gasoline prices, according to a survey conducted by Market Monitoring Agency for news agency Bloomberg.
After hearing this publicising the ranking of Greece and seeing the prices of fuel in Athens Brits in Crete decided to publish the prices in Crete where they are on average 12% higher than the mainland. There have been many explanations for this in the past such as shipping the fuel to the island and on occasions price fixing cartels with islands fuel suppliers but as the website shows the prices vary a lot depending upon location.

On the site there are maps for all four prefectures Chania, Heraklion. Lasisithi and Rethymnon enablinng users to select their cheapest provider of petrol, diesel or central heating oil.

Greeks spend more of their income on gasoline than any country in Bloombergs ranking, making the pain in Crete all the more acute. Brits in Crete hopes to assist consumers in Crete by enabling them to be selective in their choice of Gasoline or Central Heating Oil suppliers.
