The V6 that’s expected in the standard model will be a 3.0L model that will generate 333 hp. The available V8 models will come with the same engine in two different configurations:
The new coupe from Mercedes-Benz will make use of the same architecture as the SLS AMG®, including the lightweight aluminum frame. This architecture is engineered to be a highly flexible and modular platform, allowing variation in nearly every direction, which allows engineers to downsize for the new car without having to invest in research for a whole new body. As a result, the smaller car will likely also share a lot of other features with its larger sibling, including interior cabin design, seats, performance oriented gauges, and more. In addition, the SLC will probably share some of the carbon fiber components used in the SLS to save weight.
No price has been set for the Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG®, and the expected release date is for the 2015 model year. One major advantage of a V6 model will be that the SLC AMG® will be cost-competitive with many other small sports coupes on the market. It will almost certainly start at less than the current 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG® (http://www.motorwerksmercedes.com/
