PRLog - Feb. 15, 2013 - DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, D.C. -- WASHINGTON, D.C. – Capitol City Brewing Company, Washington, DC’s first brewpub since Prohibition with two area locations, unveiled today a newly crafted menu featuring natural, organic cuisine and beer-infused entrées. More than 12 original new items were added to multiple food categories on Capitol City’s bill of fare including savory dinner entrées, succulent pizzas, nutritious salads, robust sandwiches, hearty pasta dishes and scrumptious desserts.
Unique to the new menu is the Prohibition Porter Beer Bratwursts made with Capitol City’s very own signature Prohibition Porter handcrafted brew. Grilled for a crisp and juicy flavor, these all beef bratwursts are infused with the malty, dark ruby colored beer and served with sauerkraut, smashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
Capitol City Brewing Company is also debuting fresh, never frozen, all natural fed chicken from local farms to its menu. The flavorful poultry dishes include the new Lemon Caper Chicken entrée, which is a grilled and seasoned all organic chicken breast with a light lemon butter caper sauce served with couscous and seasonal vegetables. Capitol City also enhanced the popular Amber Chicken Sandwich using an organic grilled chicken breast marinated in its own Amber Wave Ale topped with jack cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onions and pickles on a Kaiser bun.
“Capitol City Brewing Company is the same great brewpub, just with a larger, more extensive menu,” says Tony Harahan, general manager of Capitol City Brewing Company’s downtown location. “We’re excited to offer more health conscious organic choices and newly beer-infused food offerings from our signature handcrafted brews. We know our patrons will enjoy our new tasty dishes.”
Additional newly featured menu items include:
New York Strip- 12oz Certified Angus New York strip grilled and seasoned and served with smashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. $25
Cajun Chicken Pasta- Tri colored Penne pasta with seasoned grilled chicken, tomatoes, corn, onions, spinach and mushrooms. All tossed in a Cajun cream sauce. $15
Grilled Shrimp Skewers- Ten shrimp seasoned, grilled, and topped with a sweet Thai chili and pineapple salsa. Served with rice and seasonal vegetables. $16
Ahi Tuna Salad- Ahi Tuna seared rare with black sesame seeds and chilled, served on a bed of fresh field greens tossed with carrots, sliced mushrooms, julienne red bell peppers and green onions in a Wasabi ranch dressing. $15
Apple Walnut Salad- Slices of fresh apples, diced chicken, cucumbers, crasins, bleu cheese crumbles, and walnuts tossed with mixed greens and Apple Cider vinaigrette. $12
Buffalo Chicken Pizza- Crispy baked pizza crust spread with bleu cheese, grilled chicken, mozzarella, and our homemade Buffalo sauce. Topped with crispy celery for crunch. $12
Barbeque Chicken Pizza- Crispy baked pizza crust topped with chipotle BBQ sauce, grilled chicken, mozzarella, onions and topped with fresh cilantro. $12
Sweet Potato Cake – A DC classic. Moist sweet potato cake topped with cream cheese icing and vanilla bean ice cream on the side. $6
Earlier this year, Capitol City introduced Sunday Brunch at the Downtown DC location offering a selection of classic and innovative brunch menu items served from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. featuring unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Marys – including a “create your own” Bloody Mary bar. Brunch is also available Saturday and Sunday at the Shirlington Village location in Arlington, VA.
Capitol City Brewing Company is also extending the popular Happy Hour throughout the entire restaurant so guests can enjoy all drink specials and discounted appetizers from the comfort of the dining room in addition to the bar area.
