Feb. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Today, Wheel:Life announced the availability of their new website [http://www.wheel-life.org] as a global information resource and networking community for people who use wheelchairs and their family members, friends and professional caregivers.

Wheel:Life resources help people:
• Find quality health and medical resources, related research and news;
• Explore educational and employment avenues;
• Research the proper adaptive equipment, assistive technology, home modification and home medical equipment for their needs;
• Network within local and virtual peer support groups;
• Discover accessible travel destinations; and
• Enjoy a full and active life as a wheelchair user.

“After working extensively on social media programs designed to assist people with Spinal Cord Injury, I discovered a greater need to serve wheelchair users worldwide with similar resources and support,” Wheel:Life founder Lisa Wells explains.  “The wheelchair community shares similar questions, concerns and product needs, although the individual reasons may differ as to why they are using a wheelchair.”

Membership is free for anyone who uses a wheelchair. Program materials are provided in English.

Wheel:Life member resources include:
• Global peer support group via Facebook
• Daily updates via Twitter
• Daily news, educational articles and other resources via Wheel:Life website
• Monthly e-newsletter to members/subscribers
• Wheel:Life e-book series available for Kindle and iPad readers
[published quarterly throughout 2013-14]
