Feb. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- As millions of Americans fill restaurants and exchange chocolates this Valentine’s Day, Gold’s Gym delivers a healthier, budget-friendly approach to spending time with loved ones – a free day of fitness for you and your partner.  With the “More Love. Less Handles.” promotion, consumers can visit any Gold’s Gym location for a free workout and try out “3 Heart-Pumping Routines” from Gold’s Gym Fitness Institute celebrity trainer Robert Reames in honor of American Heart Month.

In addition to the three Heart-Pumping Routines added to this year’s “More Love. Less Handles.” campaign, Gold’s Gym has created a series of workouts designed to help couples “strengthen” all areas of their relationship.  These workouts can be found on goldsgym.com and include:
• Trust – Focuses on exercises that require spotting, putting your partner in a position where he or she needs to be there for you and in tune with what you're doing
• Intensity – Uses movements where your partner provides resistance, giving you a better understanding of each other's limits
• Communication – Incorporates stretching to improve channels of communication between you and your partner, requiring you to express with each other when you can go a little further and when you cannot
• Intimacy – Involves workouts where you're facing one another to encourage eye contact, upping the intimacy level

“Taking time out of this special day and coming to Gold’s Gym to complete these couple-building workouts will not only strengthen matters of the heart physically, but emotionally as well,” said Bob Roche, Gold’s Gym Owner.  “It’s also a proven fact that by working out with a partner, you are more likely to reach your fitness goals.”

Gold’s is also offering information on “The Perks of Partnering Up.” For example, according to a study out of Indiana University Bloomington, couples who start a fitness program together are more likely to stick with it. The study’s final results showed that only 8 percent of the participants who worked out with their spouses quit, compared with half of those who exercised independently.

To take advantage of this free day of fitness for you and your partner, consumers are invited to go to Gold’s Gym Middletown on Thursday, February 14 (limit one workout per customer, must be a local resident with identification), or visit http://www.goldsgym.com to download the couple building workouts along with a 7-Day VIP pass.
