In addition to the three Heart-Pumping Routines added to this year’s “More Love. Less Handles.” campaign, Gold’s Gym has created a series of workouts designed to help couples “strengthen”
• Trust – Focuses on exercises that require spotting, putting your partner in a position where he or she needs to be there for you and in tune with what you're doing
• Intensity – Uses movements where your partner provides resistance, giving you a better understanding of each other's limits
• Communication – Incorporates stretching to improve channels of communication between you and your partner, requiring you to express with each other when you can go a little further and when you cannot
• Intimacy – Involves workouts where you're facing one another to encourage eye contact, upping the intimacy level

Gold’s is also offering information on “The Perks of Partnering Up.” For example, according to a study out of Indiana University Bloomington, couples who start a fitness program together are more likely to stick with it. The study’s final results showed that only 8 percent of the participants who worked out with their spouses quit, compared with half of those who exercised independently.
