John Shelby of Olathe Northwest earned the Army Strong Basketball Defender of the Game.

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 13, 2013 - The U.S. Army Kansas City Recruiting Battalion and 610 Sports Radio announce the selection of Olathe Northwest basketball player, John Shelby, for the Army Strong Basketball Defender of the Game, against the Leavenworth Pioneers on Tuesday. Shelby competed against his Raven teammates and the players on the Leavenworth team to earn the title. The Defender medal is awarded to the defensive player who demonstrated the physical, emotional, and strength of character to be recognized an Army Strong Defender. Shelby’s defensive skills will be tested the rest of the season as he and other Defenders compete for the Kansas City Recruiting Battalion’s Army Strong Defender of the Year.
