St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center and Honorary Chair Laurie McGrath will host the Brunch with a country flair featuring more than 20 food, wine, and beer stations; live music and entertainment;
A thrilling new aspect of the Morning Glory Brunch is a cooking demonstration by Maitres Cuisiniers de France, executive Chef Bernard Guillas, who has provided delicacies to his customers at The Marine Room since 1994. Chef Bernard will teach the audience how to make a recipe from his award-winning book, Flying Pans. His 30-minute demonstration will begin at 11:00 a.m. Guillas’ cookbook will be on sale for a special price to Morning Glory Brunch participants (cash/check only) and guests will have the opportunity to have their cookbooks signed by Chef Bernard.
A new family-friendly area will be another highlight of this year’s Morning Glory Brunch that will include face painting, art activities, and a go-fish opportunity drawing with child-friendly prizes (1 fish for $5; 3 for $10).
St. Madeleine’s will also be adding two 6-passenger golf carts for guests, to promote accessibility to the garden area for those with special mobility needs.
Sponsors for this year’s event include presenting sponsor Sycuan Casino, St. Madeleine Sophie’s Auxiliary, VideoFact, Lundy Insurance, The Ferrantelli Family, KPBS, Waste Management, and Ability Center.
Restaurants include Anthony’s Fish Grotto, Coffee Ambassador, Downtown Café, Hacienda Casa Blanca, Grove Pastry Shop, Kip’s Café, O’ American Kitchen, Por Favor, On the Border, Hooleys, Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill, Sycuan Casino and The Brigantine-La Mesa. Beverage participants include San Pasqual Winery Tasting Room & Gallery, Ballast Point, Stone Brewing Co., and PRP Wine International. More restaurant and beverage participants will be announced.
