Brand New Cold Plasma Product Line from Adtec

Feb. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Adtec as a brand has been synonymous with RF and Plasma technology for years now. Now it is Adtec Europe’s turn to take centre stage in the development of a new product line of Cold Plasma processing devices, which will be sold worldwide, by the entire Adtec group.

The PlasmaTact - as the product line will be known - is currently in the design stages and will be manufactured in-house in the UK. We expect to be able to accept orders in Q2. Our R&D Manager, Mr. Takuya Urayama, who leads the project, has also played a major role in our other successful plasma projects; the MicroPlaSter and the NanoPlaSter.

“Atmospheric, non-thermal plasma is a revolutionary technology which will see a lot of growth during the coming years. We have already started seeing heavily funded High-Tech start ups dedicated to promoting similar technology in the field of Medicine, Manufacturing and even Cosmetics. Our years of experience will set us apart from this competition,” Mr. Urayama comments.

The concept for PlasmaTact is to develop a product which will be compact enough for use in a wide range of environments, yet more powerful than our previous products of the same size. We expect it to be used for: Sterilisation, Surface Activation (for example; changing the properties of surfaces to become hydrophobic or hydrophilic), or Cleaning / Degreasing.

Non-thermal plasma offers the chance to perform such treatments in a way that is: clean, repeatable, does not rely on chemicals and safe - even for sensitive materials as the treatment temperature will not exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
