His client was an 81 year old male that had a serious fall within his retirement community. He was walking by a neighbor’s condo and tripped on clay tiles that were improperly installed and against multiple city and state building codes. The neighbor installed the clay tiles on his own without obtaining the homeowners’ association approval. According to neighbors, the tiles were there for months and the homeowners association failed to take action to remove the hazard. The tiles were raised above ground ranging from ¾” to 1-5/8” in height.
The client suffered a broken left wrist. He required surgery and physical therapy to rectify the damage endured.
The client’s outstanding medical bills and liens totaled $35,000. “The homeowner who improperly placed the tiles and the condo association were responsible for our client’s injury. We simply help them accountable,”
