The Guild of Photographers is very pleased to announce that Simon Dewey was presented a prestigious ‘TOP TEN’ photographer award at the Guild’s Presentation Evening held in Staffordshire this week.
The Guild of Photographers, which was established in 1988, is a highly respected association that supports photographers committed to high standards, and is seen by many as a ‘Mark of Trust’.
The Guild’s ‘TOP TEN’ awards are given to the highest scoring photographers following the conclusion of its ‘Photographer of the Year’ competition.
The award is held in very high esteem, for the Guild’s competition is regarded as the most demanding of photography competitions!
Photographers submit multiple images for assessment on a monthly basis throughout a full year. Thousands of images are entered from throughout the UK, parts of Europe and as far afield as Hong Kong.
Every month the entries are assessed and given points by a full Panel of highly respected judges and at the end of 12 months only the photographers with the highest overall scores are given a ‘TOP TEN’ photographer award.
The Guild of Photographers Director Steve Thirsk said ‘For anyone to achieve a TOP TEN award following such a demanding and highly contested year-long judging process is remarkable. Simon Dewey is clearly a very talented photographer fully deserving their accolade!’
