Brian L. Wells Debut CD “This is Our Great Country”

Wells’ music personifies the ideals of the United States – freedom, honor and happiness blended with the rebel spirit embodied in all-American Country music. With the release of his debut album “This Is Our Great Country,” at the end of 2012, this devoted songwriter has engendered emotions related to family bonds, love, and patriotism into a Country and American pop rock album worth hearing. Rapidly accompanying the release of his debut album is a recently released single “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” written for a close friend who was going through a rough time.

Brian has been singing and performing in live concerts and theater productions on the East Coast since 1988.  He expanded his career into songwriting in 2006, following a turning point in his personal life that sent him on a trip to Nashville to see the heart of Country music.  Since then, Brian has enjoyed successes with "Hold Me Close While We Dance", a song that won #1 love song at a song competition at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame and “Brother How I Miss You”, which received an honorable mention award in a 2012 National Song of the Year Competition. Recently, he has begun performing his original songs and other popular tunes at local venues including the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, DE.

From the guitar-driven, patriotic title track, This Is Our Great Country that builds on the longing for unity and support for our soldiers and our fallen heroes – to the sensual love ballad Hold Me Close While We Dance, this album ranges from Country to Rock ‘n Roll to swinging melodies. Note that toe-tapping drums in the opening chords of Couch Talkin’ generates anticipation akin to the excitement of a new relationship and is sure to be a favorite.

Brian draws on his own life experiences and struggles for his songwriting, most notable in the heartfelt duet in My Best Friend, featuring Brian Wells and Olivia Rubini (vocals). From high notes, symbols and acoustic guitar at the start to emotional pleas throughout the lyrics, My Best Friend pulls on the heartstrings of anyone who loves and has ever been loved by a child.  Childhood memories featuring the strong bonds of family expressed through the Rock ‘n Roll melody of My Brothers and Me is reminiscent of porch-sitting, tall tales that are legendary in every family.  Though past the statute of limitations, there’s still bound to be trouble from Mama afterward!
