Tri One On ™ Triathlon/Duathlon to Benefit Great Neck Public Agencies
(February 2013) Port Washington, NY – On Sunday, June 16, 2013, racing families can join together for a Father’s Day full of blood-pumping fun for the Tri One On ™ Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon.
Formerly known as the Long Island Gold Coast Triathlon™ held at the North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington, the event is a great starting race for first timers and a great tune up for longer distance racers.
Race Day will kick off at 7:30am. Participants have a choice of an invigorating ½ mile swim/11.5 mile bike/3 mile run triathlon or a 3-mile run/11.5 mile bike/3 mile run duathlon alongside the beautiful, spectator friendly course of Long Island’s picturesque, Gold Coast shoreline.
Registrants will conveniently receive race packets in the mail, which will include a technical race shirt and drawstring bag. All racers will receive a medal upon crossing the finish line. Cash prizes and medals will be awarded for age groups as well as overall winners.
Proceeds will benefit the Great Neck Community Fund whose member agencies include: North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center, North Shore Long Island Jewish Research Institute, COPAY, Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island, Girl Scouts of Nassau County, CLASP Children’s Center, Manhasset-Great Neck EOC, Child Abuse Prevention Services, Great Neck Senior Center and Great Neck Student Aid Fund Inc.
