Celebrating with an opening reception, on Monday February 11th, 2013, Doug welcomed freinds & customers with a champagne reception. We mingled and enjoyed his eclectic collection of artwork, furniture & collectibles. One of my favorites was a viintage Florida cottage print of a pink flamingo. I was also intriqued with the beautiful hand thrown pottery, vases with stunning colors blending together, large planters and smaller accent pieces. The furniture included a charcoal grey leather chaise, perfect for the bachelor pad or office.
Centered in the front room on a hutch were 2 signs that read "Escape" & "Relax". This summs up the personality of Picasso Savvy. It alsos reflects our Southwest Florida lifestyle & the homegoods available by Doug.
There was also a collection of retro sunglasess, including a pair of gold wrap Vuarne's from the 80's. In a small tin box I found a Rolling Stones 81" Tour button. I am regretting I didn't buy it, seeing I was at the JFK Stadium in Philadelphia in 81" for the Rolling Stones & George Thorogood concert.
I also loved the collection of vintage clutches. A woman can never have too many clutches. Picasso Savvy's clutch collection included a balck beaded clutch & a black patent leather bag with tortoise closure. I purchased a stunning vintage silver beaded clutch for $20.00.
