Ukuvuma takes its place amongst IBM’s global champions

Feb. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Executive management from Ukuvuma, an established South African ICT solutions and support provider, has attended the IBM Connect event at Orlando, Florida and used the platform to discuss innovation within mobile development and framework infrastructure.

The IBM Connect event, held annually at the Walt Disney World Resort, focuses primarily on social business and collaborative solutions.

Ukuvuma’s leaders say the event combines deep technical content with the learning required to accelerate the move beyond social media to drive real value in business.

Dawid van Heerden, CEO of Ukuvuma Solutions, says IBM Connect is an opportunity for businesses to learn and understand the technologies that make up the IBM Collaboration Solutions Suite.

The company’s participation at IBM Connect is important because of its ongoing contribution towards IBM’s Champion Program.

This program recognizes innovative thought leaders in the technical community - and rewards these contributors by amplifying their voice and increasing their sphere of influence.

An IBM Champion is an IT professional, business leader, developer, or educator who influences and mentors others to help them make best use of IBM software, solutions, and services.

For this year, 76 IBM Champions were announced, including John Jardin, CTO at Ukuvuma.

At the IBM Connect event Jardin hosted and facilitated an interactive ‘chalk-board’ session focused on XPages and Appcelerator Titanium, as well as other mobile frameworks.
