Buddy Sampson, widely known in Los Angeles as the Publisher of The Scoop LA, www.thescoopla.com, is a talented bassist and songwriter. He has written for independent film and performed in several countries, including the British Virgin Islands, Germany, Switzerland, Costa Rica and France. In 1999, he performed with singer Larry Woodley for the Montreux Jazz Festival and had the opportunity to jam with legendary guitarist Steve Cropper and rocker legend Edgar Winter. His original compositions and chops will be on display at Naya Restaurant. Opening the show will be The Scribes, featuring jazz journalist Scott Yanow on saxophone, classical writer for The LA Times’ Richard Ginell on keyboards, Dean Rohan on drums and Buddy Sampson on bass. Adding blues and R&B to the show will be local legend JD Hall. Closing the show will be Buddy Sampson and Friends, featuring violinist Rachel Grace.
