Feb. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Hampton Commercial Construction, Inc. was recognized at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas on February 5, for their work with Lauren Constructors, Inc. of Abilene, TX on the Omaha Public Power District’s modern coal-fired power plant construction project in Nebraska City. Hampton was awarded the “Crews That Rock” award in the Commercial/For-Profit division.

World of Concrete is the industry’s only annual international event dedicated to the commercial concrete and masonry construction industries showcasing leading industry suppliers.

“On behalf of the hard working construction professionals who worked on this project, Hampton Construction is pleased to accept this national award from World of Concrete,” said Doug Klute, Business Development Manager for Hampton Construction.

According to Scott Eaton, superintendent, the project was complicated and focused on safety throughout.

“The concrete pilings had to be placed with perfection. A large 25' x 25' footing was poured on top of concrete pilings that would eventually support a 100 foot silo. The pilings were drilled to a depth of 100' to bedrock with reinforcing cages made of rebar. The pilings were installed with extreme caution due to the large number of overhead high voltage lines and conduits,” Eaton said.

The Hampton Construction crew for the Nebraska City power plant project included (left to right in photo) Ross Zuhlke, Jay Linke, Randy Reuter, Chris Schiebur, Miguel Rodriquez, Scott Eaton, and Alan Pryor, field operations manager.

“Our crew at Hampton Construction did an excellent job of construction, reinforcement placement, layout, placing, planning, checking and double-checking of steel and anchor belts, all while maintaining a strict code for safety,” said Terry Zimmerman, Vice President of Construction.

“I’m very proud to work with these men, the backbone of this company. This crew is definitely a crew that 'rocks’,” Zimmerman said.
