PRLog - Feb. 9, 2013 - MANDEVILLE, La. -- With pearls in hand, the Princess took her pekingese to Africa by way of RE International's mission trip to Sierra Leone.
This morning, Church of the King Children's Ministry Director Michelle Nipp left with a mission team to present a VBS program to the children at The Promised Land Children's Village. The mission team will be in Sierra Leone for 10 days to minister to children and their families. While there, members of the group will read The Princess ... The Pearls ... & The Pekingese to the children of the village. The books will be be left behind for children to enjoy again and again.
According to the RE International Website, "RE is privileged to be a part of the development of Promised Land Children’s Village, a unique foster care program in Bo, Sierra Leone. In partnership with New Harvest Development, a local non-governmental organization (NGO), we are working to create a dynamic mission that not only serves orphans but also works with families and community members to restore and rebuild the family unit and the community as a whole."
Jamie Katz, author of The Princess ... The Pearls ... & The Pekingese, is literally watching her dream come true. "This has been part of what I envisioned that this book would become," says Katz. "I'm thrilled that this book is going to the Nations in the best way possible -- in the missions field. These children need to hear the message of God's love for them and know how beautiful they are to Him."
