“Working with the American Cancer Society is a huge part of our program,” explained Lisa Johnson, Esthetics Department Head at CSC. “Every student is affected in some way by cancer. Being able to give back to someone that is going through the treatment is a great way for our students to practice their skills and help someone else feel better. Making someone feel good about themselves is what the beauty industry is all about.”
Students will be leading the talk about wig care and fitting as well as makeup and eyelashes for patients who have lost their hair or are beginning chemotherapy. Students will spend time with each patient and help them pick out a wig that’s just right for them.
This is the second year CSC students have helped at the event.
