To encourage donations Pete and Mac’s is offering a free day of dog day care to families that donate $20 worth of items, $20 in cash or 20 lbs of pet food to the supplies drive. Donations for the supplies drive will be accepted at all Kansas City Area Pete and Mac’s Pet Resorts through 2/20/2013. Pete and Mac’s other Kansas City Area resorts are also hosting Yappy Hours to support HSGKC in February.
The number of pets in rescues is at an all time high, as the struggling economy has forced many families to surrender a pet they can no longer care for. Some families in desperate situations have even resorted to leaving their pets behind in foreclosed homes. “We are very happy to partner with Pete and Mac’s Recreational Resort for Pets for this effort”, says Casey Waugh of HSGKC. She continues, “The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City saves and improves the lives of dogs and cats throughout the Greater Kansas City community by providing education, adoptions, spay/neuter and preventative vet services. Your donations support this vital mission. The shelter is the oldest humane society in the area, serving pets since 1912. They became the first no-kill shelter in the community (1994) and helped create the first no-kill county (Wyandotte) in the area (2008-present)
“Please join us,” continues Waugh, “at Pete and Mac’s Recreational Resort for Pets in Lenexa, on February 12th from 4 – 7pm, for a glass of wine, hors d’oeuvres and a chance to win some great prizes.” Canine attendees will enjoy special pet friendly treats and canine companionship. A $5 donation at the door gets you, and your dog, into the party. Raffle tickets are available now; you don’t have to be present to win. All donations at the door and raffle ticket sales go to Humane Society of Greater Kansas City. Your very small donation can, and will, save pets’ lives. And socialization is good for your dog, and for you.
The party takes place at Pete and Mac’s 8809 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS. For more information about the supplies drive and Yappy Hour to support the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City call Pete and Mac’s at 913-888-8889.
