Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Daniel Del Vecchio named Medical Director for Dolce Med Spa & Boutique

Feb. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Dolce Med Spa & Boutique (www.dolcemed.com), a luxury spa offering exceptional, five-star spa services for men and women, announced today that Dr. Daniel Del Vecchio, one of the Boston area’s most highly-regarded cosmetic surgeons, has been selected to be the Medical Director at Dolce Med Spa & Boutique.

In this capacity, he will work closely with the spa’s team to provide and deliver appropriate medical care, as well as to directly supervise all medical spa procedures.

A Massachusetts native, Dr. Del Vecchio is a summa cum laude graduate of Yale University, and earned his MD degree from Harvard Medical School in 1984. He completed training in general and in plastic surgery at Mass General Hospital and achieved Board Certification in both general surgery and plastic surgery. Dr. Del Vecchio received additional fellowship training in cosmetic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, he is unique among Boston cosmetic surgeons in that, in addition to medical education at Harvard and Yale, he holds an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York City. At Columbia, he was trained in providing superior customer service to better serve his Boston cosmetic surgery practice.

Dr. Del Vecchio maintains offices at 38 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02116, and also Boca Raton, FL. An area of specialization for his practice is transplanting fat into the breasts and buttocks for augmentation; in fact, he travels several times a month to perform live surgery and to lecture. Dr. Del Vecchio recently received his medical license in Italy, one of the first American surgeons ever to achieve board certification there. His future plans include setting up a clinic in Rome.

In addition to his ongoing practice, Dr. Del Vecchio educates others in the field of cosmetic surgery.  He has published papers in periodicals including the Journal of Neurosurgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Surgical Forum, and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He has also written chapters for numerous textbooks on the topic of plastic surgery, and has spoken at national meetings on the subject of cosmetic surgery. He has presented at the Plastic Surgical Research Council. Del Vecchio has also helped train surgical residents at Tufts New England Medical Center, where he was an Assistant Professor of Surgery, and at Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital where he is currently a member of the Consulting Staff in the Division of Plastic Surgery.
