Feb. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Jersey Media Network (http://www.jersey-net.com), a Middletown-based company that operates ShoreVacations.com (http://www.ShoreVacations.com) (one of the largest local websites for Jersey Shore vacation rentals) launched a campaign to bring awareness to the fact that, despite the effects of Superstorm Sandy, Point Pleasant Beach is open for business and getting ready, as usual, for the summer travelers.

The focus of the “Point Pleasant Beach Open House Weekend” campaign is the Easter Weekend (March 30-31) when several events are planned in town, including the Easter Egg hunt, Jenkinson’s season kick-off, partial boardwalk grand re-opening and more. Visitors coming to Pt Pleasant will have the opportunity to visit some of the summer rentals available, realize that they are in great condition and that businesses are open, and hopefully be ready to plan a summer vacation. Restaurants, shops and other local businesses are encouraged to participate as well, since their bottom line depends heavily on the flow of tourists during the peak summer months.

“We heard that many tourists are afraid to commit to a summer vacation to Point Pleasant because they don’t know if the rental homes are still there or if the beaches will be open” said Chris Fotache, founder on the company. Negative media reports contribute to this reluctance which is not based on facts. When asked if the boardwalk and beaches will be open in 2013, Point Pleasant Beach municipal clerk Maryann Ellsworth responded “A big YES to both. The Boardwalk south of Arnold Avenue, where the rides are located and the annual Easter Egg Hunt takes place, should be back in operation before Easter weekend. The rest of the Boardwalk should be operational by Memorial Day weekend.”

A temporary list of the participating homes can be found on the website (http://shorevacations.com/ptpleasantopenhouse.asp), but tourists interested to view them are advised to contact the homeowners in advance and schedule an appointment.
