Intelligent Loss Prevention (ILP) Introduces Vensafe Anti-Theft Dispenser

Feb. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Intelligent Loss Prevention introduces Vensafe, a post-checkout dispensing system designed to prevent loss of high-theft merchandise.  

Vensafe dispenser secures small, high-value merchandise that cannot be retrieved until a shopper completes his transaction at the POS and scans a valid product receipt at the Vensafe dispenser.  

To use Vensafe, all high-value merchandise is moved into the secure Vensafe dispensing unit.  Product cards replace actual merchandise at the shelf level.  Optional Zervio Touch Screens provide additional shopping opportunities.  These freestanding kiosks display an unlimited number of products and can be located anywhere throughout the store, especially at checkout lanes.  Shoppers select merchandise using the Zervio Touch Screen which then prints a paper ticket.

Shoppers bring the paper ticket and/or product cards to the checkout along with their other merchandise and pay.  In addition to the traditional sales receipt, they receive a Vensafe product receipt.  Shoppers proceed to the Vensafe dispenser that is located between the checkout and store exit.  They scan the Vensafe product receipt and their merchandise is dispensed.

Vensafe fits Intelligent Loss Prevention’s commitment to developing solutions that are secure and shopper friendly.  By limiting product handling to post checkout, Vensafe prevents both internal and external theft, especially organized retail crime.  However, Vensafe provides a simple and convenient “Select, Pay, Retrieve” shopping experience for honest customers.  With product cards and/or Zervio Touch Screens in multiple locations throughout the store, product exposure actually increases, driving sales.

Typical items used with Vensafe include small, high-theft merchandise such as over-the-counter medicines, razors, electric toothbrushes, skincare, family planning, fragrances, DVDs, video games, ink cartridges, batteries and more.  Adjustable product modules accommodate a wide variety of shapes and sizes.  Since shoppers complete their transaction at the POS, Vensafe can even be used with products requiring ID like cigarettes and certain medicines, greatly increasing store efficiency and customer convenience.  

Vensafe is a modular system that adapts to retailers’ changing needs.  Each Vensafe holds 1600 sale-ready product units within a minimal footprint.  Vensafe can be used alone or combined with up to 2 Vensafe Extra dispensers to increase capacity.  Vensafe features include a stock-level display, adjustable product ejectors and time-stamp logging.  Optional features include a GSM module that sends out-of-stock notification to store associates and a cooling system.
