Internet Start-Up Raises Money for Local Pups

Feb. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Denver-based social network for philanthropy, SoRewarding, is teaming up with Finley’s Pub in the Washington Park neighborhood to host a special benefit event for local nonprofit Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue this month.

SoRewarding’s goal is to involve a younger demographic in giving back to their community through integrating giving into everyone’s daily activities, and what better way than to celebrate local pups that are looking for homes!

SoRewarding’s events team plans parties to bring the community together to give back to local nonprofit organizations. Partnering with Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue is one way for SoRewarding to thank the nonprofit for saving shelter dogs while hoping to inspire young Denverites to support the organization through “Good times for Great Causes.”

Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue is a local nonprofit organization that consists of a small group of volunteers that rescue and find loving homes for rural and local Labrador retrievers and Lab mixes. These dogs usually come from “high kill shelters” and this nonprofit saves them from being euthanized. Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue strives to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets and saving the life of an animal through adoption rather than buying one from a pet store or unprofessional breeder.

SoRewarding’s event will not only showcase an amazing local nonprofit but will also bring a new crowd to one of Wash Park’s newest Irish pubs. Finley’s Pub is a neighborhood bar featuring craft brews and local, farm-to-table food. "I want to bring a sense of community to the neighborhood and offer really good craft beers and pub food at a reasonable cost. I want people to have a place to talk to their neighbors," says owner Pete Van Itallie.

Anyone who would like to support this cause is encouraged to join SoRewarding at Finley’s Pub at 6:00pm on Wednesday, February 20 at 375 South Pearl Street in Denver.  Tickets are available for purchase on www.SoRewarding.com for $20 which include two drinks and appetizers.
