In response to this, Care UK has launched an ultrasound scanning service in three new locations: Chalfont & Gerrards Cross Community Hospital, Brookside Clinic in Aylesbury and Haddenham Medical Centre.
The new locations mean that patients won’t have to travel so far from their home or workplace making it easier to fit in an essential appointment around a busy lifestyle. An added bonus for patients is that waiting times to get appointments at each of these centres is only a few days.
Michelle Saunders, a Care UK manager who helps to run the Mid and South Buckinghamshire NHS diagnostic service, said: “Our main service on Cressex Business Park continues to run exactly as before, but we’re delighted to be able to offer three new locations for ultrasound scans. As well as being more convenient, patients and their GPs can secure an appointment very quickly – sometimes for the next day.”
The main service on Cressex Business Park, which offers X-ray, MRI scans and echocardiography also has short waiting lists for appointments, making it very popular with NHS patients and their GPs who want a painful condition diagnosed quickly.
Ultrasound scans are used to diagnose a range of conditions including problems with kidneys, liver and gall bladder through to soft tissue and the pelvis. Patients are referred to all four services by their GP.
