Head Judge arriving in South Africa from Hollywood

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 5, 2013 - One of Hollywood’s finest film/casting directors MICHELLE DANNER is heading to SA – head judge for “Hollywood 2 SA Talent Search 2013” (Singing)

Prizes are valued at R200 000 for each of the 3 winners (different age categories) proudly sponsored by multimedia production company Ministry of illusion.

Local celebrities who will be co – judges, alongside MICHELLE DANNER, include Bollywood film director/actor “Akrum Amod” (Indian Cinema Award winner for Bollywood movie “Pyaar Ajnabee Hai” in 2012) and “ANAIS” - brand ambassador to Lifeline, currently taking South African audiences by storm as a singing sensation, and the MC is “Rosie Motene” - Award winning actress/producer/TV Presenter/voice–over artiste and international MC.

Addi Lang together with TV producer Wendy Leissner-Machanik and Elize van Herk (The AWEsome Team) are the appointed South African representatives. Addi says “The first phase is for Michelle to be able to identify talent through attendance to her master classes, with the second phase being through the “Hollywood 2 SA Talent Search 2013” which offer opportunities to singers, songwriters, composers to enter the competition by entering online, and submitting their performance with a YouTube link, which is the first round (28th January to 8th February 2013). Selections will be made and the finalists will be invited to participate in the second round - a grande performance for the lucky 12 finalists to perform at the Old Mutual Theatre on the Square in Sandton on 24 February 2013.

Each year, the talent search will be a forum for different art forms and will then include dancers and actors to compete. We can only benefit from her visit, as she is also the acting coach for Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz, Chris Rock, and Christian Slater, to name but a few”.

Internationally acclaimed stage director Ivor Jones, says he is delighted to be a part of this event as it opens doors for many of our local talent who may not have had the means to be exposed. Audiences will have the pleasure of being entertained by the finalists as well as guest performances by up and coming dance troupes”. Ivor is a member of the Advisory Committee for the TUT Arts Department and has recently staged the Kora Music Awards – Cote d’Ivore. “I too am looking forward to meeting MICHELLE DANNER, who owns her own film production company (All In Films) and is the owner and artistic director of Edgemar Centre for the Arts (patrons include Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks).

MICHELLE DANNER will also be facilitating the “Hollywood 2 SA Master classes” in Johannesburg 18th – 22nd February 2013 (Old Mutual Theatre on the Square) , which offer interactive sharing of skills to South Africans including professionals, beginners, parents, casting directors/agents and producers/directors/film makers. MICHELLE DANNER’s latest movie “Hello Herman” starring Norman Reedus will be screened in South Africa later this year.The movie is set to open in 10 major cities across the United States and simultaneous available on Time Warner in a 100 million US homes June 7th 2013.
