The IPX8 classification (International Protection Rating) guarantees that devices within the iOttie New Waterproof Skin are suitable for continuous immersion underwater beyond one meter. While the skins are opportune for swimming and snorkeling, iOttie does not recommend scuba diving or any activity that is deeper than three meters.
Application of the New Waterproof Skin is simple. First, place a leakage indicator on the back of the device. The leakage indicator will turn red once submerged if water has penetrated the skin. Next apply the skin to the device by lining up the camera openings. Complete the insertion by ascertaining the oval opening appears on the back of the device with the seams lying flat around the edges of the phone or tablet. Lastly, smoothly administer the sealing tape to ensure impermeability. Once the New Waterproof Skin has been properly applied, the device can be placed in the carrying pouch for extra physical protection.
A package of New Waterproof Skins for devices includes one waterproof skin, five sealing tapes, five leakage indicators, carrying pouch, and strap (carrying pouch and strap are not included in tablet skin packages). The recommended usage of the skin is five times, but can be extended with the purchase of extra sealing tapes that are sold separately. Starting at $19.99, iOttie New Waterproof Skins can be found at www.iOttie.com. iOttie New Waterproof Skins are not intended for permanent water-resistance and must be removed to charge devices.
