Arnold Laver Supporting Oxford Brooks Students

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 5, 2013 - Arnold Laver has been supporting Oxford Brookes Architecture School undergraduates. The timber merchants have been sharing their expertise to help students investigate liminal conditions through plywood.

TRADA University (Timber Research and Development Association) paired up Arnold Laver with Carsten Jungfer and Emu Masuyama who were the unit leaders, to help students at the university to realise their designs using timber from the online timber suppliers.

Eight groups tried out different techniques of using the birch plywood timber. They had a number of variables to change and work with including thicknesses from 1.5mm and 18mm. comprising glue-lamination, cold-bending and kerfing. The students were able to use quality timber products and experience practical aspects of manufacturing.

Arnold Laver will be appearing at Ecobuild from the 5th to the 7th of March and are considering displaying the prototypes created by the students to add depth to the exhibit. You can find out which stand Laver will be at and more about the upcoming event here: http://www.ecobuild.co.uk
