It’s like having a personal style coach and your best friend in the dressing room with you,” says Co-Founder Denise Mahnick.

My Style Genie is designed for convenience and results. “You tell us a bit about your style, physique and wardrobe, and we do the rest,” says Mahnick. For instance, “a member chooses an item from their personal boutique, drags it onto our outfit canvas and simply clicks ‘suggest outfit,’ and our patent pending recommendation engine provides up to 15 different looks from that one item, specifically optimized for her.”
My Style Genie also builds outfits with a member’s real-world wardrobe demonstrating how to combine the clothes you already have with beautiful new pieces that incorporate the latest fashion trends and works with their budget. The app also remembers retailer-specific purchases and offers a social component including social media shopping where a member can share her favorite fashion and outfits in her Look Book.
“The idea is for the right fashion to find you instead of you endlessly having to search for it and for women to be able to have full and usable access to her wardrobe. We deliver personal fashion inspiration and the expertise of a personal stylist/shopper and wardrobe consultant, on-demand,” Mahnick says.
To enhance the shopping experience My Style Genie has also enlisted fashion and lifestyle influencers to provide tips and fashion know-how. Notables include Megan Zietz of TF Diaries, Jenny Wu of Good Bad & Fab, Candice Kahn of Fashionably Organized, and Lauren Battistini of Color My Closet.
Not only is the genie out of the bottle for the consumer, the My Style Genie experience helps brands and retailers connect the right merchandise with the right customer enabling a lifestyle integrate one-on-one conversation in a way that is aligned with their needs.
