Join the African First Ladies in LA at their 2nd Global Health Summit for Women and Children

The 2nd African First Ladies Health Summit and Business Round Table

Dear friends:

US Doctors for Africa (USDFA) and the United Nations Office for Partnerships (UNOP), in strategic collaboration with African Synergy, (a membership organization of 35 African First Ladies) and the African Union Representational Mission to the USA, are proud to announce the 2nd African First Ladies Health Summit and Business Round Table.  

The summit will take place from 2-4 April 2013 in Los Angeles, California. (For security purposes we will inform attendees of the location by email, with a web announcement as we reach event time.)
African First Ladies and their delegations of high-level government officials, diplomatic dignitaries and prominent guests will join the summit and the business roundtable in support of one of the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon's global initiatives, the UN Millennium Development Goals and efforts beyond these post-2015, in Africa - focused on health, education, and the eradication of poverty.  
The theme of the business roundtable on Day 3, will be public and private investment, as well as multi-stakeholder collaboration, in healthcare infrastructure, development  technology including mobile mHealth, medical devices, information sharing, monitoring and resiliency.

In 2009, the Summit event was a great success with over a thousand attendees, including fifteen African First Ladies. We are already expecting strong participation again this year.

A special gala award ceremony will honor 5 outstanding individuals for their humanitarian work in Africa with the prestigious `African First Ladies Award for Excellence'.
