The Brandenburg Project pairs a set of inspired new works, composed by six contemporary composers with each of J.S. Bach’s beloved Brandenburg Concertos. Seed’s newest work “Variations on Brandenburg 4”, a piece based on “Brandenburg Concerto #4”, will be performed on Saturday, February 23rd at 7pm.

In addition to Seed’s work, other Brandenburg Project’s contemporary composers include CSO’s composer in residence Anna Clyne, Elbio Barilari, David Fulmer, Jennifer Jolly, and Christopher Theofanidis.

Said Seed, "I've wanted to do a project like this since I was young. The opportunity to use some of my most beloved music as a platform to create from, with an ensemble as talented, vibrant and accomplished as Baroque Band – using period instruments, is genuinely a dream come true.”

Seed has composed and performed his original works with The Chicago Symphony's Skookumchuck Strings, The Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra, The Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra, Present Music, The Prometheus Trio, The Jessica Lurie Ensemble and many others.

Seed will appear along with his group, the Jason Seed Stringtet (http://www.jasonseedmusic.com), at a record release concert on March 6th at the Chopin Theatre in Chicago.  “In The Gallery” marks the Stringtet’s second album featuring Seed’s unique chamber music compositions played by string players from the Milwaukee and Chicago Symphony Orchestras and accompanied by Seed on guitar.  The Jason Seed Stringtet will open for NAGANT (http://www.nagantmusic.com)
