Feb. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- The 2013 Celebrity Martini Glass Auction (CMGA) will take place on Feb. 18, and feature over 20 exclusive glasses signed by famous musicians, actors, athletes, artists, and chefs.  For the first time, absentee bidding is available to the public online through www.naplescmga.com.

The process begins first with celebrities graciously autographing the martini glasses, and then artists from around the country create unique works-of-art, in and around the glasses, which are designed to reflect the special attributes of each celebrity.

Some of the celebrities who have signed the glasses include Actor Matt Damon; NY Yankee Derek Jeter; Actress Raquel Welch; TV & Radio Host Larry King; Actor James Earl Jones; Actress Jane Seymour; Legendary Catcher Johnny Bench; Designer Michael Kors; Top Chef Michael Colicchio; Actress Nicole Kidman & Singer Keith Urban; Actress Betty White and the cast of Hot in Cleveland, and Swimsuit Model Kate Upton.

Net proceeds from the auction will support the Naples International Film Festival (NIFF) and the Arts.

“It’s a win/win for everyone involved,” said Brenda Melton, founder of the Celebrity Martini Glass Auction. “The artists are recognized for their incredible talents, the celebrities are signing a martini glass specifically designed for them, and the Naples International Film Festival is supported by all who love the arts and great films.”

Melton has enlisted a cadre of artists from all over the country to donate their time and talent to create these incredible works-of-art.  Local artists from Southwest Florida who designed many of the glasses include Marjorie Pesek and Michelle Korbawi Wilk.

Law firm Gray Robinson is the presenting sponsor of the event.

ABOUT THE CELEBRITY MARTINI GLASS AUCTION

Brenda Melton is a Naples philanthropist and supporter of film and the arts. What started out as a fun event with friends at the premiere of the movie Sex and the City has blossomed into a major fundraising for the Naples community.  At the premier of the movie, guests were asked to bring a designed martini glass, but after viewing the incredible display of artistic creativity they knew they needed to bring it to the next level and so the CMGA was born.

The Celebrity Martini Glass Auction will be held on February 18, 2013 at the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts in the Daniels Pavilion but the online bidding is available now through February 17.  For absentee bidding and more information visit www.naplescmga.com
