Father and Daughter Dance to Instill Confidence in Young Girls

Feb. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- HOUSTON, Feb. 1, 2013 - Bethel's Global Reach, along with Perfect Praise, will host an evening of Texas elegance, encouragement and fun as the Houston nonprofit presents its annual fathers and daughters dance from 7- 10 p.m., Feb. 22, 2013, at Bethel's Place Empowerment Center, 12660 Sandpiper Drive in Houston, Texas 77035.
The event, themed "The King's Daughters: Boots & Blessings," aims to promote self-confidence in girls, ages 3 to 18, and to encourage them to achieve their highest potential.

According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, children with involved, loving fathers are significantly more likely to do well in school, have high self-esteem and exhibit empathy.

Understanding the importance of the father and daughter relationship, the dance will offer an opportunity for fathers and daughters to enjoy an evening of wholesome fun and bonding. Girls will have a chance to walk the red carpet with their fathers and enjoy great cuisine and entertainment.

"To support our larger effort of uplifting families, we felt it would be a positive step forward to host this dance again. It's an opportunity for girls to bond with their fathers and walk away from the dance encouraged to accomplish their dreams," said Marcus Holman, executive director of Bethel's Global Reach.

While the girls enjoy time with their dads, the nonprofit also has plans to launch the "Father Daughter and Beyond Initiative" to further nurture the bond between fathers and daughters.

"We want to emphasize the importance of father daughter relationships and cultivate that with continued daddy/daughter dates nights throughout the year and community service days where fathers and daughters serve together so she can see a man that gives back to the community," said Jaime Holman, children's ministry director.

"We want to see the heart of the fathers turned back to the children and the heart of the children turned back to the fathers," Jaime Holman added.

Tickets are $40 per couple and $5 dollars for each additional daughter.
