Press and bloggers cocktail party - Thursday, February 5th , 5 PM – 7 PM (open to the public) American Social, Fort Lauderdale opens its doors for the celebration Wine Carnival - Thursday, February 21st, 5 PM – 8 PM (open to the public) Taking place at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art, the Wine Carnival and Consumer Challenge takes and exciting twist on the everyday wine tasting. Sponsors and charities will have “carnival booths” where guests can play wine inspired activities such as ring the wine bottle, toss the cork and other fun games. Twelve lucky guests will be selected to sit at the AFWC Challenge Table where contestants will attempt to identify 10 glasses of wine for the ultimate Grand Prize of two tickets to the AFWC Gala. Through out the evening Total Wines and the AFWC will be pouring selected wines served with delectable cuisine from area restaurants. This charitable evening will benefit the Diabetes Research Institute. $40 per person. AFWC will conclude with a highly anticipated Gala Dinner - Thursday, April 4th, 6 PM – 10 PM. The wine event of the year will be held at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, Celebrating the Finest Wines Produced in the United States! Guests will have a chance to taste the 622 participating wines while partaking in the silent and live auction benefiting the Diabetes Research Institute and 4Pets Charities. All the wines that have entered into the competition will be poured tableside for guests by “Wine Angels”. In attendance will be notable guests including 20-30 winemakers who will pour their wines from specially made “Tasting rooms” and four renowned chefs - Chef Norman Van Aken from Tuyo Miami, Chef Angelo Elia from Casa D’Angelo, Chef Dean Max from Ocean 3030 and Chef Christina Machamer winner of the 4th Season of Hells Kitchen- will be cooking the four course dinner on stage.
