Android phones have captured nearly half of the market, with users typically upgrading their device every 18 months to 24 months. This practice has led to an overstock of unwanted devices, however, because many users fear their personal data is vulnerable to unauthorized recovery. They know that traditional delete functionalities in Android allow data to be retrieved from old devices.
Ian Matthews, Avenger Mobile president and smartphone enthusiast, says, “I enjoy buying the latest devices as soon as they’re on the market, so I’ve been wanting to recycle my old phones. I hesitate, though, because of the threat that my personal data might be jeopardized. That’s why I’m excited about our Nuke My Phone launch. I can finally dispose of my stockpile without worrying.”
Following National Institute of Standards and Technology guidelines, Avenger Mobile’s Nuke My Phone secure deletes users’ personal data from their phone’s internal SD card. In addition, the app takes the guesswork out of completing a factory reset by simply prompting users to press a button to begin, a process that otherwise can be confusing for a novice Android user.
Nuke My Phone is available for purchase at Google Play and Amazon App Store.
