The IIHS recently implemented stricter crash tests that now include overlap crash analysis. In the past, most vehicle front ends were designed to take on only a full front collision and weren't built to withstand an accident that only involves one side of the front end, known as an overlap. These crashes often pin the driver or the passenger, greatly increasing injuries. Both Mitsubishi vehicles earned “good” scores in all areas tested by the IIHS, the highest score possible.


Besides a strong structure, other features that work to keep passengers safe include:

•   A LATCH anchor system for securing child safety seats
