By: Carroll Shelby Foundation “The Goodwood Revival’s celebration of Carroll Shelby’s life during the festival was remarkable,” Considered by many to be one of the world’s most important motor racing events, the Goodwood Revival is a three-day festival commemorating racing from the 1920s through mid-’60s. This year, the revival honored automotive icon, manufacturer and racecar driving legend Carroll Shelby. For one time only, the finest collection of significant and authentic racing Shelby Cobras ever assembled in the UK gathered for “The Shelby Cup.” To mark the 50th anniversary since Carroll Shelby’s introduction of the initial versions of this cult sports car, the 2012 Revival featured a grid exclusively made up of 30 Cobras including the special-bodied aerodynamic Cobra-based coupés. This special all-Cobra race was a 45-minute two-driver competition, with driver changes in the pits between 15 and 30 minutes. Race entrants helped generate funds for the donation to the charity.
