In the autumn of 2012, Year 10 students began to explore the world of work and the application process required to secure a job. Lessons included, writing your CV, preparing a letter of application and interview techniques.

All of The John Bentley School Year 10 students and staff appreciate the time each person gave freely to make the day the best it could be.
Mr Ruscoe, Year 10 Guidance Leader, said; “I’m delighted with the hard work our students have put into this project which will have a very positive effect on their futures. I am deeply grateful to the support shown by the local business community, without them the experience would not have seemed so ‘real’.”
As the students arrived for their interviews it was obvious from their body language and the atmosphere in the interview hall that there we a few nerves, just like in a real world situation.
Miss Graham added, “For the majority of our Year 10s this is the first time they will have experienced such a focused, one to one situation and I am very pleased with the enthusiasm displayed by the year group. The Big Interview Day is the culmination of many months of work and I think it is a great start to a future annual event.”
