Capita announce details of their Police and Crime Commissioners Conference Conference

This Conference is a critical event giving you the opportunity to examine the key challenges faced by elected Police and Crime Commissioners during their first months in post and their impact on the wider criminal justice community.

Feb. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Following their election in November 2012, Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) have become the key figures in planning for future budgets and governance and engaging with key stakeholders to cut crime and improve outcomes for local people. Coming four months after the elections, this event is ideally timed to explore the key police and crime objectives that have been set up locally and will be in place for five years.

Capita’s 2nd National Police and Crime Commissioners Conference, taking place in London on Wed 27th March 2013,  is a critical event giving you the opportunity to examine the key challenges faced by elected Police and Crime Commissioners during their first months in post and their impact on the wider criminal justice community. With new commissioning powers and a duty to co-operate with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), HM Courts and Tribunals Service, prisons, probation, youth offending teams and other core agencies making up community safety partnerships, newly elected Commissioners will have to establish strong links with local criminal justice agencies, the voluntary and private sector to reduce crime and disorder at a local level. This event brings together key stakeholders and newly elected PCCs to provide a great opportunity to learn how they will work collaboratively within community safety and criminal justice to achieve the most effective outcomes.

The key issues to be discussed at the event include:

Funding and commissioning arrangements
Issues relating to accountability and the relationship between PCCs and Chief Constables
Commissioning services for victims and witnesses
The role of Police and Crime Panels
