UAT Hosts Experimental Typographic Workshop

Jan. 31, 2013 - PRLog -- University of Advancing Technology (UAT) is looking forward to welcoming Anastasios Maragiannis to campus at the end of February. Maragiannis is a senior Lecturer at Design Futures University of Greenwich in London. During his visit to UAT, he will teach a five-day workshop focusing on typography.

The workshop itself will cover a multitude of skills including synthetic images, 2D, 3D typographic connections, and visual arts and design. Participants will be led through optional series of experimental intellectual 2D/3D typography in motion, static, sculpturing and /or drawing exercises that seek to strengthen visual experimentation with typographic connections. Attending students will create visual screen-based imagery which will include sculptural incarnations.

The week-long program seeks to take participants outside the standard classroom to employ more sophisticated exercises that will help students link their technical side to their creative.

The workshop will take place February 25 – March 1 and will be a combination of presentations, workshops and conceptual experimentation. It is open to participants who have creative background knowledge.
